About Us
Hyolmo
The Hyolmo are an Indigenous community residing primarily in the Helambu region of Nepal, known for their rich cultural heritage and distinct identity. Despite their small population, the Hyolmo people possess a unique language, traditions, and customs that have been passed down through generations. Historically marginalized, they have faced challenges in preserving their cultural identity due to external influences and a lack of awareness. The Hyolmo community is deeply connected to the Himalayan environment, which shapes their traditional practices and lifestyle. Efforts to promote and protect Hyolmo culture include raising awareness, supporting education, and advocating for their rights. By highlighting their cultural richness and addressing socio-economic needs, the goal is to ensure that the Hyolmo heritage continues to thrive and contribute to Nepal’s diverse cultural tapestry.
